Meta now lets AI agents handle the boring parts of WhatsApp Business setup

Meta has launched WhatsApp Business Tools MCP, a connection that lets AI agents like Claude, Cursor, Codex, and ChatGPT automate the setup of WhatsApp Business for companies.
Previously, the process required developers to switch between multiple tools including Developer Console, Business Manager, and API reference. Now developers can instead instruct their AI agent to create WhatsApp Business accounts, verify phone numbers, register Cloud API access, and create message templates. The AI agent can also test messages, monitor webhooks, and diagnose errors that previously could remain hidden.
Alongside news of its new AI-focused subscription plans, Meta announced on Tuesday that it will now allow AI agents of your choosing to set up and manage WhatsApp Business messaging, the service that allows companies to connect with customers through WhatsApp conversations.
