Thinking Machines has released Inkling, a very large AI model with nearly one trillion parameters that can understand images, text, and audio simultaneously.
The model is trained on 45 trillion tokens of text, images, audio, and video, and supports a massive context window of 1 million tokens. It uses a special architecture called Mixture-of-Experts, where only 41 billion parameters are active at any given time, making it faster. Inkling is now available on Hugging Face with support for multiple loading formats and can be used directly with common AI frameworks such as transformers, SGLang, and vLLM.
Inkling is a large (1T params!) open model to natively accept image, text, and audio inputs.
