The Future Is for Everyone: Muse for Small Business

Earlier this month we introduced Muse, a personal AI agent available in the US and Canada that completes tasks on your behalf. Today, we’re expanding it with a collection of new skills and connectors inside Muse to help people run their businesses. Small businesses have been growing on our apps for nearly two decades. They told us they’re short on hours, not ideas. So we built Muse for Small Business to help get work done with the tools they already use. Tom Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa, said, “I work about 65 hours a week, and there are so many things where I’m the only one who can do them. I need to free up time for the work that actually makes my business money: cutting the steaks, making the sausages.

Launching Meta Enterprise Platform

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared the following: We believe superintelligence will create significant new opportunities for all people and businesses. Meta already serves billions of people at scale and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers. Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well. Meta Enterprise Platform will use our strengths that few other companies have: advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure, and years of working closely with many businesses. Initially, we will focus on bringing our full technology stack, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code, and more to businesses and developers to help them grow. To lead this effort, I’m excited that Chirantan “CJ” Desai will join Meta as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to me. CJ is an experienced enterprise leader with a track record of building full-stack software and delivering results in AI, infrastructure, business applications, and security. He has an extensive industry network that we look forward to partnering with.

The Biggest News From Connect 2026

We’re building personal AI agents for everyone and a whole family of devices that let you connect with them from anywhere. Bringing Muse to AI Glasses We launched Muse, a first-of-a-kind personal AI agent that proactively helps you meet your goals, earlier this month. At Connect, we announced we’re bringing Muse to our AI glasses in the coming months, so you’ll soon have easy access to your personal agent wherever you go. Mark Zuckerberg showed how Muse keeps getting better with new features, connectors, and a state-of-the-art model that brings your Muse to life. Muse on AI glasses: You’ll soon be able to say your agent’s name, and Muse can act on what you’re looking at, so you won’t have to describe what’s in front of you. Ask about a product on a shelf, a flier on a wall, or a long list of school supplies, and Muse can take action. Voice mode: Talking to an agent as capable as Muse is different from voice chat with an assistant. You can have a long, in-depth conversation, and Muse gets work done in the background while you’re still talking.

New Features for Meta Ray-Ban Display

Today at Connect 2026, we shared updates to Meta Ray-Ban Display, including new features, online ordering, and an expansion into five new markets. Navigate Hands-Free Heads-up navigation is a feature consumers consistently tell us they love in our Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, and we’re excited to build on that. Cycling and public transit directions. Use your voice to ask for directions and your glasses will show you turn-by-turn cycling directions or real-time transit departures on the display so you can keep your phone in your pocket. Available starting later this month in the US and Canada. Navigation that actually sounds like a person. Meta Ray-Ban Display will use the world in front of you rather than street signs in turn-by-turn walking directions, so they’ll tell you to turn left at the yellow house, for example, rather than “turn left at Third Street.” https://about.fb.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/01_Cycle_Transit_Nav.mp4 Show Your Face With Hologram Glasses are great for hands-free calls, but sometimes you want the person on the other end to be able to see you. Hologram closes that gap.

Canadian Start-up smartARM Uses AI to Create Intuitive Bionic Prosthetics

smartARM, a Toronto-based startup, is developing an AI-driven bionic arm that automatically selects the right grip for different objects. Instead of manually switching between grip patterns, users can now intuitively pick up a glass and then a spoon without extra steps. The arm uses a camera in the palm and Meta's open DINOv2 vision model to recognize everyday objects from just a few reference photos. With Meta AI glasses as an optional add-on, the arm can gain additional context, and users can personalize which objects it should handle through a phone app.

Closed-Loop Cooling Explained: The Plumbing Behind Meta’s AI

Powerful AI servers generate so much heat that traditional air cooling is no longer sufficient. Meta instead uses a closed cooling system where a mixture of water and glycol circulates through the servers' hardware, releases heat through heat exchangers, and is reused in a loop — the same fluid can be used for up to a decade. This system uses much less water than one might think (less than a couple of restaurants per year), takes up less physical space than air cooling, and Meta shares this technology openly with the industry through its Open Compute Project.
