Varför jag byggde det

Most AI coding tools are heavy. They need a strong machine, lots of RAM, and they slow an older laptop down fast. We wanted the power of AI agents without having to buy a new computer. So the problem we wanted to solve was simple: how can someone with a humble laptop still build with AI, in a workspace that stays light, organized, and under their control?

Tools: At the start we used OpenCode and Pi to build the first version. Once AugentFlow worked, we switched to AugentFlow itself to continue its development, so it has been building itself ever since.

Approach: We built it in stages, starting from what we needed most. First came the chat, with a built-in harness, so we could talk to an AI agent properly. Then the board, to queue tasks per project instead of losing track of them in chat. After that we added support for other harnesses and a code editor, and the smaller features followed one by one, each added only when real work asked for it.

More surprises are coming. The dream is one tool for the whole journey: from planning an idea, to building it, to marketing it. AugentFlow already covers the building part, and we are growing it step by step toward planning and marketing too. For now it stays free in beta while we improve it from real feedback, and keep it small and fast.
