A new startup called AIUC, founded by Rune Kvist (formerly at Anthropic) and Rajiv Dattani (ex-COO of AI safety organization METR), has developed a certification system for AI agents—automated programs that perform tasks on their own.
The system, inspired by the cybersecurity standard SOC 2, is called AIUC-1 and tests agents through roughly 5,000 different scenarios to check how they handle security issues like jailbreaks, hallucinations, and data leaks. The company already counts Cursor, Lovable, Harvey, and ElevenLabs as customers. AIUC just announced it has secured $40 million in Series A funding from Ribbit Capital, along with earlier seed funding of $15 million—totaling $55 million.
