Why I built it
Most bedroom producers can't judge their own mix objectively, and paying an engineer for feedback on every revision is slow and expensive. I wanted a feedback loop that takes minutes: upload a track, see exactly where the low end is muddy or the dynamics are squashed, fix it, upload again and watch the score move.
How it's built
Flask + MySQL in Docker, with librosa doing the signal analysis: frequency balance, dynamics, stereo width, clarity, transients, loudness. Cyanite.ai adds genre and mood, and an LLM turns the numbers into concrete mixing advice, including plugin suggestions. Real-time progress runs over Socket.IO, billing through Stripe. Claude Code and Codex wrote most of the code while I steered, reviewed and tested on real mixes.
The hardest part
Making the score mean something. The first version topped out around 77/100 no matter how good the mix was, so I rebuilt the scoring against the real distribution of uploaded tracks and re-baselined every threshold. Getting free AI models to give consistent, non-empty feedback was a close second.
