I had an older project (2016?) written in Java, where I wanted to explore how to develop a chatbot. In 2025, I was inspired to pick it up again using the same database as a foundation. I moved it to the web and rewrote it in PHP. Later, the project overlapped with my interest in how AI is developing, and I had the idea of making Slubbo a 'home-grown' AI. I mainly used Claude to help work out how it should function. Slubbo would have its own personality, rooted in its love of Bajen and Södermalm.
