Why I built it
With Vinvalvet, we can record every bottle we drink or have at home. We can rate them and add tasting notes, making it easier to recommend wines to friends and colleagues who ask for tips. It's also fun to keep track for ourselves.
How it's built
ChatGPT, Codex and VS Code are my tools of choice, along with Flutter.
The hardest part
The toughest part was getting daily updates working for the wine database, which now contains over 12,000 different wine products. The database updates in the background in the app, but only when something has changed. The data comes from Systembolaget.
Up next
The app is currently in Google Play's closed testing. Once it clears that, I hope it'll be published on Google Play. The next step is to tackle an iPhone port.
